In 2013, a need for Veteran Lap Robes arose for the veterans of Manteno, Illinois. SEW, the Queen of Heaven Quilters was formed. With a small sewing machine, sewing blocks of fabric (with no batting as requested by the Veterans Home), we did 12 Veteran Lap Robes. Each year that count has gone up. We collected other items that the veterans could use and made a trip down to Manteno to support our veterans with new greeting cards, Christmas cards and things that our veterans would have a need for. They put their life on the line for us and this is such a small token of our gratitude!
We had a request for a little pillow with a lady's name on it. It was completed and presented, and the lady holds it close to her heart and always has a smile on her face. That is called LOVE!
